Q1: Which methods of payment are available to me?
A1: Please pay the invoice in cash on collection or by bank transfer several days prior to collection. Credit or debit card payments are not accepted.
Q2: Should I contact Trans Cross prior to collecting my vehicle?
A2: Yes, we recommend that every customer gets in touch with his contact person beforehand, in order to discuss the collection modalities and specifically the necessary customs clearance.
Q3: Must import duties be paid for every imported vehicle?
A3: As a rule, every importer is obligated to pay these duties – for temporary import (as a tourist) or for a transit document a guarantee must be deposited. An exception is the transportation of personal effects for relocation. Please contact us directly in this case!
Q4: Is it possible or necessary to take out a transport insurance?
A4: Your goods are generally not insured on the sea route. We recommend taking out a separate transport insurance for the sea route and subsequent transport to your front door.
Q5: Can you also convert the vehicles?
A5: No, Cross Trans carries out the pure logistic tasks for the import of your automobile but we will gladly assist you in finding a suitable converter for your vehicle.
Q6: At what time can I collect my vehicle?
A6: Our team is here for you Monday to Friday from 8:00 till 18:00 hours. If you wish to collect your vehicle you should be here by 16:00 hours.
Q7: How is my vehicle stored in Bremerhaven?
A7: The vehicle is stored on an enclosed open area. Access is only permitted with authorisation. On special request, storage in a warehouse is also possible.
Q8: What documents are required for import?
A8: Please always have the following documents ready for presentation:
- Purchase contract
- Bill of Lading
